About MHA Recovery Services

A Legacy of Healing and Hope

MHA Recovery Services programming has the belief that through non-judgmental education, a return to our cultural teaching and prevention activities with our families and relatives, we can make known the future consequences of the use and abuse of mood-altering chemicals and create positive attitudes and behaviors regarding recovery.

Our Beginning

Following the oil boom, MHA Nation Tribal Chairman Mark N. Fox recognized the need for a drug treatment center. From 2016-2018 Chairman Fox’s team worked diligently to create and design a fully operational drug treatment center in Bismarck, ND. This move established the first treatment centrally located, tribally funded, and operated. Due to his vision the Good Road Recovery Center opened its doors in December 2018.

From the beginning of Good Road Recovery Center, a continuum of care soon followed. Programs developed such as sober living, Healing Hearts Lodge, MHA Recovery Team, and the Point of Contacts. With a combined effort with our MHA Recovery Services programs, we are able to have Point of Contacts stationed in every Fort Berthold Segment.

Our Mission

MHA Recovery Services helps clients navigate a path of recovery that supports long-term sobriety and well-being through practice-based intervention and a system wide coordination of resources.

A Future Free From Addiction

“Providing a holistic approach to the disease of addiction. We understand its effects are not limited to the individual, but rather the family, community, and the culture.”
